Milestone! Now CCNA Certified! (Posted Feb 19, 2024)

I passed!!! I am officially a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CNNA) after passing the exam this past weekend!

I focused my studies on this endeaver for the last 6 months. My motivation was driven by the value of learning the content and the value that this certification presents. Networks are incredible how they are made and work! I a lot of enjoyment learning this subject, it might be quite “dry” but not when you find it interesting like I do.

My key resources were Cisco’s Official Cert Guides (V1 &VII), David Bombal‘s CCNA Course, and also Jeremy’s IT Lab videos on YouTube. Great mixture of resources!

A big thank you to those supporting me in my journey from when I started thinking about tech with the help of CourseCareers, then breaking into tech, and now obtaining a milestone certification.

To those amazing people who supported me through all of this Jimmy Dang, Tyler Wendell, Adonis Caballero, Lucas Araujo, learning from Josh Madakor when at CourseCareers, Aaron Velez, Ryan Fennell, Cody Reynolds and my dear Danielle Bibelheimer!

REASONS I CHOSE CCNA

1. I wanted a valuable certification for me in the field of tech which helps to show that I am trained well in understanding how a network operates.

2. I desired a certification that was valued by employers. There are many certifications which are cheaper and show some progress in the field but the amount of understanding and skillset is much bigger for the CCNA than for a cheaper quick certification.

3. I chose the CCNA over the CompTIA Network+ in order to have a more variety with my certifications (I already have the Security+) and to get a foothold into Cisco which has such a great presence in the world of information technology.

4. I chose the CCNA to have a certification that I can take to many different areas of tech. Understanding how a network opperates is helps someone the fields of cybersecurity, software development, compliance, cloud, and others. For me I do want to begin focusing on the cloud, specifically Azure.
