A Field of VoIP (Posted April 17, 2024)
Our largest client is transitioning to a different VOIP provider. This will include transitioning the whole office and the industrial work area. These phones that you see in the photo are the Cisco 7960 VOIP phones, these specific ones are not currently in use and serve as spare phones. The are being grouped together as we inventory and prepare for the new phone provider. We will be returning approximately 100 phones to also include several Cisco 7960 conference room phones as well. The main reason for the change in phone providers is the price. Our client found a better priced vendor where they will save a great amount of money over the year.
As you can see from the photo, we are currently not using the whole inventory of phones. Fortunately, when I need to provide a user request for a new IP phone there is a variety of ones to select from. I usually try to find the best available one and make it look nice and clean when implemented as I aim to provide the best of customer service and impress when possible. I personally really enjoy using the VOIP phones to their potential and being very prompt at returning missed calls. The phones have a red light at the top of the handheld part so when you return to your desk and see a red light you know that you had a missed call or a voicemail. I can quickly return the call and connect with the caller. I know that when I miss a call and return the call promptly this shows how important I take their call even when I’m not available at the time they need me. I really enjoy helping users set up their phones and configuring speed dials. Additionally, when I walk around the office or have conversations with employees I’ll ask them if they are comfortable with their VOIP phone and if they know their current pin to access their voice mails. I can reset the pin and provide them with a new one so that they can access voicemails and even do more customizations on their phone. Happy users are the best clients, and I hope to always make happy clients from the small things to the big things.
