CCNA, I’m Coming for You!

I’m in the thick of studying for this certification! The content is very stimulating to me and I love learning what is under the hood of networks and how they function to provide operations for all of our current day technology.

I think of it much like a vehicle in which nearly all adults know how to drive a vehicle, but knowing how the engine works and functions to the small details they are oblivious too. They just need to know the basics of function to travel and move their stuff. This is much like use of our computers and cell phones in which everyone knows how to “use” the internet, but not so many know the specific details of “how” it works. Common people know how to log onto WIFI, but they don’t know how DNS or DHCP work or why they exist, yet these are used to help the common person every day.

As I am into the 17th chapter of this I have created a network on Packet Tracer to enhance my CLI skills. The content like I mentioned above is very stimulating, but it also requires a great amount of effort to fully understand all aspects of the material.

I decided to begin my study for this certification for several reasons. The first reason is how significant this certification is in matters of the fundamentals of understanding how networks operate This is important for physical networks, but also for understanding Virtual Machines, and the cloud. The second reason is how this certification is respected and appreciated in the tech industry. Some certifications are achievable but not valued. The third reason is how foundational this certification is in regards to tech. Whether I dive deep into cyber security or focus on the network side of things this certification will be very valuable.

My skill set grows every day, and I am laser focused on getting this certification because I know it will benefit me in my skill set and my overall career.
